The Story Well is a special place containing the best of the best stories and poems. Take a look inside at all the stories and poems placed here just for you. Alongside lots of other stories you will find the special stories told by Jesus, these stories have hidden meanings, read them to discover what Jesus has to say to us. If you have a story you want adding to the Story Well let us know and we will do our best. You can always email us at thestorywell@kids-church.net

To read one of the stories or poems you first need to find the entrance to the Story Well hidden somewhere on this page.

The Background to the Story Well

If you ever find your way to the bottom of my garden you may notice a beautifully carved stone wall. The wall curves below the old hawthorn hedge and is mostly hidden. What you would not know without being told is that you had just found one side of the ancient Story Well. If I am ever with a visitor when they first see the Well they invariably ask me if it still holds water. I always reply by saying the Well hasn't held water for many years. This, of course,is true but what I fail to tell them (and this must be our secret) is that the Story Well has never held water. It was built not to refresh the body and quench thirst of the tongue but it was built to give refreshment to the spirit. If you are approached by the Well Keeper and he offers you the chance to be lowered down the Well using the rope and bucket then sit tight and enjoy the ride. You may see in the near darkness that you are surrounded by the usual stone walls but you will also find at irregular intervals doorways leading into dimly lit passages. Should you choose to journey along any one of the corridors you will discover rows upon rows of old oak bookshelves, each one covered by hundreds upon hundreds of books and manuscripts. Some of the books are large, almost too heavy to lift, others are thin and flimsy. Each book contains a story, a tale or details of a legend just for you. I understand the Well descends deep into the earth and it continues to grow and grow. I am also told that more stories are added each day by the Well Keeper and that he is always looking for more to include in his collection. Maybe you have a story that you want the Well Keeper to bind and store on the shelves of the Story Well, if so send your story to thestorywell@kids-church.net and we will pass it onto the Well Keeper. Maybe one day a visitor will pull out your story to read.
